Maine CNA Certification Requirements
In order to qualify for a state-approved program you must meet the following criteria below:
- Be a minimum of 16 years of age
- Passing a background check
- High school diploma or equivalent, or proof of a 9th-grade education

Maine CNA Classes & Testing Costs
In order to be CNA certified in the state of Maine, you must pass a state-approved program of 180 hours. These courses are a combination of 90 hours of classroom time, 20 hours of lab time and 70 hours of hands-on clinical skills. With such thorough classes, you will be able to work in skilled nursing, nursing homes, hospitals, and other medical facilities.
The cost for certification ranges from $400-$1200 depending on the program you choose whether it be in a community college or a technical school. Maine is different in regards to CNAs seeking licensure in the state. Those seeking licensure must meet the below qualifications:
