Nurse aides can browse the Pearson Vue website to verify their certification status. A social security number, first name and last name, or certification number are required for the verification process.
Renewing Nurse Aide Certification in Mississippi
A nurse aide needs to accumulate at least 8 hours of compensated nurse-related duties during the last two (2) years of the certification period before being eligible for certification renewal. A renewal form will need to be submitted which can be obtained from Pearson Vue’s website. A notification will be sent 60 days before the expiration date.
Reinstating a CNA Certificate in Mississippi
If a CNA is unable to renew his/her certification prior to the renewal deadline, he/she will need retake both parts of the NNAAP examination on the first try in order to have his/her name restored in the CNA Registry. In the event that he/she is unable to achieve a passing score in either part of the National Nurse Aide Assessment Program or NNAAP, he/she will required retake a CNA program approved by the state.
