How to Become a Certified Nurse Aide in Connecticut
In order to become a CNA in Connecticut, candidates must be added to the Connecticut Nurse Aide Registry which can be accomplished by following these steps:
- Completion of a state-approved training program for nurse aides.
- Fill out an application for examination through Prometric. A fee worth $118 will be applied.
- Successfully complete the Prometric endorsed written and practical competency examinations.

How Do I Renew a Connecticut Nurse Aide Certificate?
CNA certificates in Connecticut must be renewed every 2 years. One of the requirements for renewal is to complete an 8-hour worth of paid work as a nurse aide or any direct personal care services within the last 2 years. The expiration of CNA certificates will be based on the last employment date. Take note that failure to complete any of the aforementioned requirements will require the applicant to start over again. How Do I Apply for a Lapsed Nurse Aide Certificate In Connecticut?
