CNA Classes in Colorado

Nestled in the Rocky Mountain Range, Colorado is a state that boasts some of the country’s top-quality healthcare. Many of the retiree population are settling in this beautiful state due to the available quality of medical care and tax benefits. As a result, there is a large demand for certified nursing assistants (CNAs).

In order to work as a Certified Nurse Aide in Colorado, you must graduate from a state-accredited program. The state will not allow you to work while you are in the CNA program – you must complete the program first. The program must consists of two components; a classroom and clinical portion. However, there are some exceptions to this requirement for those who may have other licensures.

Some who have experience as a Licensed Psychiatric Technician, foreign nurses, or nursing students who have completed (5) credits of Nursing Fundamentals may apply for a temporary license. The license allows the candidate to work for four months legally while working at a patient’s home or in long-term care. The licensees must also have a clean background check.

Online CNA Classes in Colorado

Online CNA classes in Colorado are a convenient and flexible way to pursue a career in the healthcare field. Online CNA classes offer a hybrid format that combines online classroom instruction with hands-on clinical experience. They allow students to learn at their own pace and schedule, while still receiving guidance and feedback from instructors. Online classes cover topics such as anatomy and physiology, infection control, communication skills, patient rights, and safety procedures.

However, online classes are not enough to prepare students for the practical aspects of CNA work. Therefore, online CNA programs in Colorado also require students to attend in-person sessions where they can practice their skills in a simulated or real-world setting. These sessions are usually held at the school’s campus or at a local healthcare facility. Students must complete a certain number of hours of clinical practice under the supervision of a qualified nurse.

Some of the best online CNA programs in Colorado are:

  • Northern Colorado Training Institute: This program offers a blended “hybrid” CNA course that consists of 20 hours of online theory coursework per week, along with two 8-hour skills sessions in the classroom. Additionally, students must complete two 8-hour clinical rotations at a NoCo Training Institute-approved health care location.
  • NTSOC: This program offers online theory classes and labs/clinicals in person for a hybrid CNA program model. The program is four weeks long and includes access to online materials and textbooks.
  • Voyager Home Healthcare: This program offers an accelerated online CNA course consisting of 75 total hours, which can be completed in as little as two weeks. The program includes online lectures, quizzes, videos, and interactive activities, as well as in-person skills sessions and clinical rotations.

Online CNA classes in Colorado are a great option for students who want to pursue a rewarding career in healthcare while enjoying the flexibility and convenience of online learning. However, students should also be prepared to dedicate time and effort to attend in-person sessions and gain hands-on experience.
